Immersive restaurant concept
CANYON
Sculpted earth. A warmer kind of drama.
CANYON imagines a restaurant carved into a layered rock landscape. Warm sandstone forms, burgundy seating and reflective water create a dramatic setting with smaller, intimate places to dine. A luminous ceiling installation introduces a light, translucent counterpoint to the surrounding stone. The concept explores how geology, reflection and warm light can shape both the identity of a venue and the way guests move through it.
Material direction
Layered red sandstone and raw rock; burgundy velvet; smoked bronze; dark polished stone; reflective water; a translucent ceiling installation. These are concept material directions, with final specifications to be developed.
My role
Concept, atmosphere, lighting, materials and guest journey — Maria Andriiuk.
Concept & atmosphere
Dining inside a sculpted landscape. Layered canyon forms establish the spatial identity, while soft upholstery and low lighting bring intimacy to the monumental setting.
Signature elements
Layered red stone walls; sculptural rock formations; a luminous translucent ceiling; intimate seating islands; reflective water channels; bronze accents.
Lighting direction
Warm concealed uplighting reveals stone texture. Low pathway lighting suggests movement between seating areas, while table lanterns and the ceiling installation create distinct levels of brightness.
Experience & journey
Arrival is imagined through a compressed, darker threshold before the main dining landscape opens up. Curving routes reveal secluded tables, water reflections and changing views towards the ceiling.
